On Nov 26, Prof CHEN Houjin from School of Electronic and Information Engineering, gave a lecture in BJTU Weihai about the latest trend of information processing and artificial intelligence technology and application. The students of Communications learnt a lot from Prof CHEN who are on the list of Nationally Outstanding Teachers.
On November 26, the lecture on Information Processing and Artificial Intelligence Technology and Its Applications, hosted by the Weihai Campus, was successfully held in Room C207 of Teaching Building No. 1. The keynote speaker was Professor Chen Houjin from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, a nationally renowned teaching expert. Liu Ying, Dean of Weihai International College, Xiao Guiping, Deputy Director of the Weihai Campus Management Committee, and Zhou Hang, Associate Professor from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, attended the lecture.
Chen Houjin gave an explanation from four aspects: information processing, deep learning, main applications, and educational concepts. He enumerated the signal processing technologies and applications around us, such as speech processing, character recognition, and image processing. He also introduced in detail the principles of deep - learning technology, an important branch of artificial intelligence, and combined with his own research to explain the specific applications of information processing and deep learning in fields such as biomedical image processing and analysis, road traffic video processing and analysis, and video text detection and recognition. He hoped that students, on the basis of learning existing knowledge, would think deeply, understand thoroughly, and apply what they had learned, so as to form their own knowledge and abilities and become outstanding talents who "learn with insight" and "learn to apply well".
This lecture was conducive to helping students broaden their horizons, stimulate their enthusiasm for learning, and clarify their future plans. It is hoped that every student can absorb the essence of knowledge in learning, understand the true meaning of knowledge in exploration, and demonstrate the value of knowledge in practice.
