On Dec 26, Council of Weihai Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University held its second meeting of 2024,relevant topics were considered and adopted.
On the morning of December 26th, the second council meeting of the Institute of Weihai Beijing Jiaotong University for the year 2024 was convened. The meeting was chaired by Gao Liang, the council chairman, Standing Member of BJTU Party Committee, and Vice President of BJTU. Attendees included council members Liu Ying, Director of Weihai Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University, Dean of Weihai International College, and Executive President of Weihai Campus Management Committee; Li Xiangshan, Secretary of CPC Weihai Campus Committee, and Vice President of Weihai Campus Management Weihai Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University held the second council meeting of 2024 Committee.; Zhao Xing, Vice Secretary of CPC Weihai Campus Committee, Vice dean of Weihai International College and Vice President of Weihai Campus Management Committee; as well as council members from the Weihai Nanhai New Area Committee, Zhou Shuiqing, Yang Peng, and Yu Xinhanjin.
Gao Liang expressed affirmation for the work of Weihai Institute. He proposed three suggestions for the institute:
Firstly, make good use of the disciplinary advantages, faculty strengths, and team advantages of the main campus of Beijing Jiaotong University, to design top-level strategies and carry out organized scientific research activities. Secondly, to make good use of the alumni resources in Shandong Province, to increase the intensity of horizontal project research, and to appropriately expand the fields and scope of cooperation on the basis of serving Weihai enterprises well. Thirdly, to make good use of the spatial resources of Weihai Institute, to introduce the university's strong scientific research teams, and to promote the development of scientific research and the transformation of achievements, contributing more to the university's "Double First-Class" initiative and the high-quality development of the local area.
The meeting reviewed and approved the decision to adjust the management layer of the research institute and to establish a supervisory role. The meeting also heard and approved the 2024 annual work report of Weihai Institute, the 2025 financial revenue and expenditure budget, the 2025 recruitment plan, and the recruitment brochure, among other agenda items.
