Weihai Campus Hosts the 2025 New Year's Gala to Welcome the New Year

On Dec 30, the 2025 New Year party was held in BJTU Weihai, with more than two hundred faculty and staff members taking part. The Campus management reviewed the work achievements of the past year and commended the outstanding departments and individuals. The wonderful performances by the teachers themselves made everyone more excited about the future and more confident in their work.
On the evening of December 30th, the Weihai campus successfully hosted the 2025 New Year's Gala, attended by the entire campus leadership, Chinese and foreign faculty members, and nearly 200 staff members.
As the auspicious Loong year was behind and the golden Snake year was ahead, the year 2025 promises to reach new heights for BJTU Weihai campus. Amidst laughter and joy, the faculty and staff of the Weihai campus gathered together to celebrate this significant moment of bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new.
Liu Ying, Dean of Weihai International College and Executive President of Weihai Campus Management Committee, led the attendees in reflecting on the campus's remarkable achievements and distinctive highlights of 2024, which included 10 groundbreaking achievements. She expressed gratitude to all the staff who have contributed to the campus's development over the past decade and called on everyone to maintain the positive momentum, to strive in unity, and to march forward courageously to embrace the promising year of 2025.
In 2024:
The Lancaster University College of Beijing Jiaotong University was ranked among the top 20 UK-China Joint education institutions, entering the first tier of UK-China joint education institutions.
Weihai campus hosted and organized the 2024 UK-China Joint Institute Alliance Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the 2024 Student Leaders Exchange Forum of the UK-China Joint Institute Alliance for the first time.
The first batch of postgraduate students graduated successfully.
The first cohort of international students was admitted to Weihai International College, marking the initial step in international student recruitment.
Local faculty members successfully applied for a provincial natural science fund project for the first time.
The campus took the lead in the university's enrollment promotion efforts in Shandong and Gansu provinces for the first time.
Students from the campus won the national first prize in the Embedded System Design Invitational Contest of the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest, a first for both Weihai campus and Beijing Jiaotong University.
The campus achieved the national first prize in the National Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling for the first time.
Students from the campus won the first prize in the Weihai College Badminton Team Competition for the first time.
The campus implemented an enterprise annuity for self-employed staff, resulting in an 8% increase in income.
Li Xiangshan, Secretary of CPC Weihai Campus Committee, acknowledged the diligent efforts and outstanding performance of all departments in 2024. He announced the list of outstanding departments, outstanding department leaders, outstanding staff members, and the winners of the first Young Faculty Teaching Competition. He expressed hope that in the new year, all faculty and staff of the Weihai campus would continue to strive for excellence and move forward in unity.

Standing firm today, we continue to strive with confidence. The gala's program was rich and varied, and as everyone reflected on the achievements and gains of the past year, they were filled with even more anticipation and confidence for the future.
