“Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart” | Social Practice Base Co-construction between Beijing Jiaotong University and the Second Experimental Primary School of Weihai Nanhai New Area
To promote the communication between universities and primary schools, cultivate the teaching, communication, and organizational skills of the volunteer teaching team, and establish a solid foundation for the future volunteer teaching, the Graduate Volunteer Teaching Team of BJTU held a "Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart" social practice base construction ceremony at the Second Experimental Primary School in Nanhai New Area, Weihai on March 15.
Gong Xun, Deputy Secretary of Weihai Youth League Municipal Committee, Fu Lei, Deputy Researcher of Nanhai New Area Management Committee, Xie Qinglin, Director of Youth Development Department of Weihai Municipal Committee of Communist Youth League, Diao Pengfei, Director of Party and Human Resources Department of Nanhai New Area, Sun Fuxiao, Director of Social Work Department of Nanhai New Area, Ren Yihao, Deputy Secretary of Youth League Committee of Beijing Jiaotong University, Lin Wanliang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of BJTU Weihai Campus, Cai Yingzhi, Headmaster of Second Experimental Primary School of Nanhai New Area, all students of the 25th Graduate Student Teaching Mission of Beijing Jiaotong University, and some teachers and students of the Second Experimental Primary School of Nanhai New Area, Weihai participated in the activity. All the students of the 25th Graduate Student Teaching Mission of BJTU and some teachers and students of the Second Experimental Primary School of Weihai Nanhai New District participated in this activity.
This social practice base building activity was hosted by Liu Xiaoqing, vice principal of the Second Experimental Primary School of Weihai Nanhai New Area.
Fu Lei, deputy researcher of Nanhai New District Administrative Committee, welcomed the arrival of the 25th Graduate Student Teaching Mission of Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU).
Ren Yihao, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Beijing Jiaotong University, delivered a speech, introducing in detail the development history of BJTU and the Graduate Student Teaching Mission, and expressing his gratitude to the Second Experimental Primary School of Nanhai New Area of Weihai for providing a valuable platform and the great support from the Youth League Municipal Committee of Weihai and the Management Committee of Nanhai New Area. Ren Yihao put forward three requirements to all members of the graduate student mission: students are required to follow the mentor closely; students are required to adhere to the concept of “wisdom and will” in teaching practice; and members of the mission are required to do a good job of “Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart” bridge link.
Secretary Gong Xun, Director Fu Lei, Secretary Ren Yihao and Principal Cai Yingzi jointly unveiled the plaque for the social practice base of BJTU students. In the warm applause, the “Student Social Practice Base” was officially unveiled.
In order to better accomplish the teaching practice task and improve the teaching ability of the members of the delegation, the Second Experimental Primary School of Nanhai New District, Weihai, equipped the members of the delegation with twelve teachers who have rich experience in teaching as mentors to give specific guidance and help in all aspects of the teaching practice of the delegation. Minister Diao Pengfei and Minister Sun Fuxiao awarded the appointment certificates to the mentors.
In order to create a better learning atmosphere and express the great importance of BJTU to this activity, BJTU presented books, sports equipment and vision correction devices to the Second Experimental Primary School of Nanhai New District, Weihai. Mr. Lin Wanliang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Jiaotong University Weihai Campus, and Mr. Xie Qinglin, Director of the Youth Development Department of Weihai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, presented the educational materials to the student representatives.
At the end of the activity, Gong Xun, Deputy Secretary of Weihai Youth League Municipal Committee, introduced the basic situation of Weihai and a series of practical measures to serve the growth and success of young people and continuously optimize the ecological development of young people such as Weihai's “Talent Plan” and “Green Bird Plan” to the students and teachers, hoping that the students would learn about Weihai and choose to learn more about Weihai and choose to learn about Weihai. They hoped that the students would understand Weihai, choose Weihai and take root in Weihai. We congratulate the co-construction of social practice bases and wish this teaching practice activity a complete success.
Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart is not just a simple phrase, but also the practice of ideals and hopes. It is hoped that the students of the mission can accumulate experience in this activity and apply it in their future teaching work, bring warmth and enthusiasm to more children in remote areas, inject fresh blood into the education of the motherland, and go to the next mountain and sea.
Weihai Campus, as an important part of BJTU's “One University, Multiple Campus”, built a bridge between BJTU and Weihai City in this activity, which effectively strengthened the complementary advantages of the university and the city, and built up a common development, so as to comprehensively carry out the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral character. Weihai Campus will also continue to promote the coordinated development of school education and social education, boost the deepening of the school-land dual-creation action, and promote the landing of a number of industry-university-research achievements.
