On Oct 20, two months after the 2022 cohort came to Weihai, the Campus leadership had a freshmen talk with student representatives from all freshman classes, which meant to understand students’ university life situation and gather their suggestions to further improve the Campus services.
In the afternoon of October 20, Weihai Campus carried out a symposium for the new students of 2022 class. Sun Wenbo, secretary of the Party Committee of the campus, Liu Ying, dean of Weihai International College, Li Xiangshan and Lin Wanliang, deputy secretaries of the Party Committee of the campus, Bai Yanlei and Xiao Guiping, vice deans of Weihai International College, had a cordial talk with all campus leaders and student representatives from 21 freshmen classes of the current study. The meeting was hosted by Ma Xiao, Director of the Department of Student Development and Services.


Liu Ying praised the students' learning and comprehensive performance since their enrollment, and affirmed their hard-working and upward-looking spirit. She said that the Department of Student Development and Services will carefully record the opinions and suggestions of each student and feedback them to all departments of the campus, so as to improve the quality of the learning and living environment of the students by combining with the actual situation of the campus.






During the exchange, the participating students actively spoke and highly recognized the teaching level, academic resources, living environment and infrastructure of the campus, and at the same time, they also put forward their suggestions in terms of professional learning, details of life and catering characteristics. Campus leaders attached great importance to the students' speeches, responded to the students' concerns in a timely manner and made careful records.

At the end of the meeting, Sun Wenbo thanked the representatives of the new students to the campus in all aspects of the valuable advice and suggestions, and to introduce to the students campus “Voice of the Red Fruit”, “campus leadership face-to-face”, WeChat and other types of campus and student communication channels, and said that the campus faculty and staff office door is always open to the students. He also said that the doors of the office of the campus staff are always open to the students. He hoped that the students would cherish their time and fulfill their dreams and have a good college life.
The symposium enhanced the campus's all-round understanding of the study life and ideological dynamics of students, and provided important references for further precise measures to improve the service level of the campus.
