On May 22, Zhou Junwei, the head teacher of the experimental class of Weihai Wendeng Jinshan Middle School, and 3 other teachers have led 45 students to visit the Popular Science Base of BJTU Weihai Campus. Five technicians received the visitors.

At first, the technicians conducted a scientific experiment exhibition for the students, showcasing projects such as balloon garlands and air rockets.

After the scientific experiment exhibition, the teachers and students visited the laboratory for mechanics demonstration, the laboratory for electromagnetics demonstration, the laboratory for vibration and waves demonstration, the laboratory for optics demonstration, the laboratory for stereoscopic vision and comprehensive demonstration, and the laboratory for thermotics and comprehensive demonstration.

They experienced numerous popular science demonstration projects such as the angular momentum conservation turntable, the helicopter demonstrator, the Tesla discharge demonstrator, the large Faraday cage, the longitudinal and transverse wave demonstrator, the resonance pendulum, the diffraction grating, the 3D movie and the steam engine.

After the visit, students agreed that this immersive scientific exploration journey not only transformed textbook knowledge into vivid reality, but also ignited an enduring thirst for discovery through hands-on interactive experiments. They hope to visit the Popular Science Base again in the future and can continue to explore the mysteries of science.
The Popular Science Base of BJTU Weihai Campus will, as always, hold rich and colorful popular science activities, inherit the spirit of scientists, promote the popularization of scientific and technological knowledge, and strive to make greater contributions to the cause of popular science in the Weihai region.
