Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao visited BJTU Weihai Campus

On Oct 28, Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao visited Weihai Campus to exchange experiences on Chinese-foreign cooperative education.
On October 28th, Sun Zhenglin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Northeastern University and Secretary of the CPC Committee of Qinhuangdao Branch, along with two colleagues, visited BJTU Weihai Campus to conduct research and exchange insights on the operations of branch campuses. Li Xiangshan, Secretary of CPC Weihai Campus Committee, and Liu Ying, Dean of Weihai International College, participated in the discussion.


Li Xiangshan warmly welcomed the delegation from the Qinhuangdao Branch of Northeastern University to Weihai Campus. The meeting began with a viewing of the Weihai Campus promotional video, followed by Liu Ying's introduction to the campus's development history, organizational structure, management mechanisms, and the distinctive features of its off-campus operations and Sino-foreign cooperative education programs. Liu Ying expressed that the Qinhuangdao Branch of Northeastern University has extensive experience in the development and construction of branch campuses, and both sides should leverage their respective strengths to enhance communication and explore potential areas of cooperation. During the meeting, Li Xiangshan provided an overview of the current development status of Weihai Campus, including its party building and ideological-political work, talent cultivation, and student management. He emphasized the campus's commitment to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and striving for higher quality development.

Sun Zhenglin expressed gratitude for the warm reception and commended Weihai Campus for her achievements in recent years. He shared an overview of the development of the Qinhuangdao Branch of Northeastern University, its management of branch campuses, talent cultivation efforts, and the progress of Sino-foreign cooperative education projects. Sun Zhenglin noted that the Weihai Campus has many advanced practices in off-campus operations and suggested that both sides strengthen exchanges on topics such as management and operational systems, faculty and student management, to jointly enhance their capabilities.

During the meeting, responsible personnel from both sides also discussed experiences and management strategies for off-campus operations, sharing insights and measures from their work. Representatives from Campus Presidents’ Office and Office of External Engagement and Training attended the exchange meeting.
