
The 2023 Lancaster University Global Summer Schools is scheduled to take place from July 10th to July 28th, 2023, at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. Global Summer Schools offer six different programmes: International Cultural Experience(ICE), Environment and Sustainability, Introduction to Law, International Commercial Law, Film, and War& Diplomacy. Students are required to choose one programme to participate in. During the three-week Summer School, participants will have the opportunity to experience campus life, which has received high student satisfaction ratings, alongside students from the UK, Malaysia, Ghana, China, and other countries around the world. They will engage in mmultiple seminars and campus activities, explore British culture, and gain learning experience and certification from a globally leading university.
As an important partner of Lancaster University, Weihai campus sends 50-80 students to participate in the Lancaster University Global Summer Schools each year during non-Covid time, with Lancaster University offering the most favorable policies.

Global Summer Schools Overview
The Global Summer Schools primarily takes place in Lancaster (including a 2-day schedule in London) and includes the following six programmes:
- International Cultural Experience
Through lectures at Lancaster University, corporate visits, interviews, policy debates, innovation and cultural awareness courses, student discussions and presentations, and leadership and teamwork training, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of British culture and society, the impact of decision-making on society, and the significance of an international working environment. Additionally, participants will build international friendships through team-building activities, visit London, and participate in the College Cup Day competitions!

- Environment and Sustainability
Explore the beautiful streams, Lake District, countryside, and coastlines of the UK to understand the mutual impact between the natural environment and humans. Through academic lectures, laboratory courses, field practices, and visits to environmental enterprises, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the Earth's formation, natural systems, and human impacts.

- Introduction to Law
This course will provide participants with an opportunity to explore current legal issues and develop an understanding of the methods, processes, and concepts of legal research at a university level. The course aims to offer undergraduates a preliminary experience in studying law and will be particularly helpful for those interested in pursuing law at the postgraduate level. Through lectures, seminars, group work, and field trips, participants will connect theory with practice, and will also visit important legal organizations in London.

- International Commercial Law
Based on the highly influential English commercial law, the International Commercial Law programme delves into the history, current status, challenges, and solutions in various aspects of international commercial law through comparative studies with EU and US laws. It aims to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the principles of international commercial law and a professional understanding of related content, including dispute resolution and bankruptcy.

- Film
This programme fosters participants' understanding of film form, technical composition, and film knowledge. Participants will learn how to analyze films, write short scripts, use cameras, and edit.

6.War and Diplomacy

While studying, you can choose to explore natural landscapes on weekends, visit the Lake District in Windermere to enjoy intimate encounters with swans and seabirds by the clear lakeside, or trek through the hills to discover the beauty of the rugged landscapes. Alternatively, you can indulge in shopping and entertainment, or head to the Manchester Outlet for a shopping spree.
