On the afternoon of November 24th, the International Student Education Center organized a commendation ceremony for international student volunteers at the Weihai Campus, followed by a symposium with student representatives.

At the start of the new semester in September 2020, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, over 80 international students of Weihai Campus were unable to attend classes face to face. To maintain normal teaching operations and support students studying abroad, the International Student Education Center organized on-campus international student volunteers to assist teachers in recording lectures for students overseas. These volunteers overcame various challenges, diligently supporting teachers to ensure the smooth delivery of both online and offline courses. Additionally, some volunteers took the initiative to care for fellow students who required medical attention and actively engaged with Chinese students to organize cultural activities.
The International Student Education Center expressed its gratitude for the selfless contributions of these volunteers and presented six of them with "Most Outstanding Volunteer" certificates. The center also encouraged more students to join the volunteer team, embodying the university's motto of "Knowledge and Action."

Following the commendation ceremony, student representatives and faculty members engaged in a discussion about their academic and living experiences at the Weihai Campus. Javokhir from Uzbekistan was the first to express his gratitude to the Weihai Campus and the teachers at the International Student Education Center. He shared that he had felt a sense of warmth and belonging here and expressed his reluctance to leave as his time at the campus would soon come to an end. Other students also voiced their thoughts and raised concerns about the challenges they currently face, seeking assistance from the teachers. Several faculty members from the International Student Education Center attended the meeting, taking note of the difficulties students encountered in their studies and daily lives.
