On May 25, the grand finale of 5th BJTU Weihai Campus Art Festival – "Symphonic Flute, Harmonious Nature" Special Concert of the Chamber Orchestra – commenced at the Student Activity Auditorium.

Presented by the Campus Chamber Orchestra, the concert featured diverse instrumental forms including the Western Orchestra, Piano Ensemble, Guzheng Ensemble, Bamboo Flute Ensemble, Hulusi Ensemble, and solo performances. Students from aesthetic education courses, alongside members of the various chamber ensembles, showcased exceptional skill and passion. Their performance resonated with harmonious melodies between mountains and seas, creating a vibrant musical tapestry blending Eastern and Western traditions.
[Chinese Elegance: Resonance of Tradition]

The majestic drums and soaring bamboo flute opened the Chinese segment with the powerful Reign Over the Land, fully displaying an Eastern grandeur. The passionate erhu solo Galloping War Horses painted a vast battlefield scene, revealing the "resilient spirit of ethnic strings."

A striking contrast emerged between the vast, desolate soundscape of the bamboo flute solo The Great Dese and the ethereal, graceful Hulusi ensemble piece Deep in the Bamboo Forest.

The Guzheng Ensemble revived ancient poetry through Plucking薇 (from the Book of Songs) and Jasmine Blossoms. A poignant dialogue between tradition and modernity unfolded in the Bamboo Flute Ensemble with Piano piece Letter of Farewell, expressing profound sentiments of parting.
[Western Classics: Keys and Strings]

Members of the Piano Ensemble presented Frédéric Chopin's romantic *Etude in G-flat major, Op. 10, No. 5 ("Black Key")* and the vividly folk-inspired Herdboy's Song. The fiery rhythms of Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5 in a piano four-hands arrangement brought Gypsy flair to the stage.

The Western Orchestra ensemble offered a tender rendition of the familiar English folk tune Greensleeves. Free Loop, cleverly adapted, infused the classic pop melody with fresh chamber music vibrancy.

The String Quartet performed the serene and melodious Pastoral Wedding. Fingerstyle guitar brought thunderous energy with Thunderstruck, igniting the audience with a solo rendition of the rock anthem.
[Cinematic Echoes: Emotions Stirring Mountains and Seas]

Piano four-hands delivered the majestic theme from Pirates of the Caribbean, perfectly capturing Captain Jack Sparrow's legendary voyages with wave-like intensity. The moving theme from Jay Chou's film Secret, performed by strings and piano, evoked waves of youthful nostalgia.

This concert stands as a vivid testament to the fruitful achievements of aesthetic education on BJTU Weihai Campus. Progressing from dedicated practice in aesthetic courses to confident stage performances and seamless teamwork, the students infused traditional and modern, Eastern and Western masterpieces with vibrant life through their superb artistry and passion. BJTU Weihai remains committed to fostering holistic education centered on aesthetic development, continuing to weave splendid chapters in its cultural tapestry.
