On May 18, the "Voices of Beauty" Student Choir Concert, a highlight of BJTU Weihai Campus 5th Art Festival themed "Celebrating a Prosperous Era with Youthful Spirit," successfully concluded at the Student Activity Center Auditorium under the organization of the Campus Youth League Committee.

Featuring 10 artistic pieces, the concert showcased collaborative performances by the Choral Art and practice course choir, alongside members of Student Choir and Piano Accompaniment Team. After months of meticulous preparation during the spring semester, the performers delivered a culturally diverse and soul-stirring musical journey.

The concert commenced with three works from the Choral Art and practice course, instructed by GUO Beibei from the Art Education Center. These pieces demonstrated how choral art enhances cultural understanding and aesthetic appreciation. "Listen to the Wind" explored nature-life relationships through wind imagery, while the choral adaptation of the pop classic "Truly Love You" conveyed profound gratitude for maternal love. The Hakka dialect piece "Magpie Chatter" captivated audiences with its playful rhythm and celebration of human-nature harmony.

As the campus's first high-caliber art troupe, the Student Choir presented a repertoire blending global perspectives and cultural heritage. "Gifted by the World" expressed heartfelt appreciation for life through tender melodies, while "Song of Yue People" revived ancient Chu Kingdom romance through poetic lyrics. The soothing harmonies of "The Seal Lullaby" evoked oceanic serenity, contrasting with the contemplative Fujian dialect piece.

Piano accompaniment student LIN Yujie, a computer science undergraduate, delivered a passionate interpretation of Chopin's "Ballade No. 1 in G Minor." The concert reached its crescendo with "Chile Song," fusing piano, bamboo flute, and choral elements into a modern-traditional synthesis, concluding with the Russian classic "Beautiful Horizon" (Прекрасное далёко).

This successful event highlighted Weihai Campus's achievements in aesthetic education. The campus remains committed to cultivating artistic literacy and cultural awareness through high-quality artistic productions, empowering choral art to become a dynamic medium for youthful positive energy and enriching campus culture.
