BJTU Weihai Campus and Weihai No.2 High School Launched Collaborative Educational Program

On Apr 17, 48 students and 3 faculty from Weihai No. 2 High School visited BJTU Weihai to participate in an inquiry learning activity, including Popular Science Base. This event strengthened the exchange and cooperation between both sides and enriched students' extracurricular activities. The event aimed to immerse high school students in university life and inspire them with the spirit of higher education.

Guided by five instructors from the campus’s science education base, the group explored a series of interactive laboratories, including Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Vibration & Waves, Optics, and Thermodynamics. Students engaged with cutting-edge demonstrations such as angular momentum conservation turntables, Tesla coil discharge experiments, helicopter principle simulators, Faraday cage demonstrations, and 3D film technology, witnessing textbook theories come alive through hands-on experiences.



Reflecting on the visit, participants described the journey as a "gateway to scientific wonder," where immersive experiments ignited their curiosity and deepened their appreciation for applied sciences. Many expressed eagerness to return for further exploration.
During a seminar on youth development and aspirations, Ms. MA Xiao, Executive Director of Shandong Admissions Promotion, elucidated BJTU’s legacy through its motto "To Know & To Do". She detailed the BJTU’s historical evolution, academic strengths, campus culture and admissions policies.
This joint initiative exemplified BJTU Weihai Campus’s commitment to fostering regional youth talent. By designing diverse, inquiry-based programs that blend scientific innovation with maritime vitality, the campus strives to empower students with practical wisdom while contributing to Weihai’s vision of becoming a "refined, knowledge-driven coastal city."
