In order to ensure the smooth progress of the College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program and achieve good project implementation results, from November 20th, 21st, and 26th, the Weihai Campus held the mid-term inspection and defense meeting for the 2020 College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program. After half a year of project implementation, a total of 36 innovation projects and 3 entrepreneurship projects entered the mid-term defense. Twelve teachers were invited as judges to participate in the defense meeting and provide guidance and comments to the project teams.

The defense meeting was divided into four groups: the communication and computer group, the economics and management group, the environment group, and the entrepreneurship group. It adopted a combination of on - site and online defense methods. The first two groups had on - site defenses, while the latter two groups had online defenses. Members of each project team, based on their selected topics, made project reports from multiple aspects such as the project's research routes, research results, and subsequent research plans. They presented through PPT demonstrations, physical demonstration videos, and on - site exhibitions. According to the presentations of the project team members, the judge teachers put forward guiding opinions on the mid - term results of the projects from aspects such as project feasibility, practicality, market barriers, and development prospects.

The College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program serves as a crucial platform for undergraduates to hone their abilities. It is conducive to enhancing college students' innovative spirit, entrepreneurial awareness, and innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities, and reserves talents for the construction of an innovative country. Since the Weihai Campus launched the innovation and entrepreneurship training projects in 2017, the number of projects has been increasing year by year. This fully demonstrates the campus's high - level attention to "innovation and entrepreneurship" education work and its determination to cultivate high - quality talents in the current era. For each project team, this mid - term defense is merely a node on their forward - going path. It is believed that after the defense meeting, they will be able to make up for deficiencies, forge ahead, and successfully complete their projects.
