Laboratories for Electronics and Communications Engineering are located on the seventh and eighth floors of the West Siyuan Building of Weihai campus, with more than 1000 square meters of usable area. As a national characteristic specialty, the communication engineering major relies on the national key disciplines of "communication and information systems" and "signal and information processing", and is positioned at the "internationally renowned, domestic first-class" level to ensure its leading position in domestic similar professional field, and constantly improve the international reputation.
In order to meet the needs of international talents in the field of communication, the major introduces and integrates the excellent teaching resources of Beijing Jiaotong University and Lancaster University in the UK to achieve the integration with the international engineering education model, and to train students to become senior professionals in communication and related fields with international vision and innovative spirit, basic theoretical knowledge and professional technical skills, and the adaptability to the international working environment.
As an important platform for experimental teaching, Laboratories for Electronics and Communications Engineering support more than 20 undergraduate teaching experiments in electronic technology and communication technology-related courses, as well as a number of practical activities such as Graduation Projects, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Experiment, the National Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest, and the National University Students Intelligent Car Race, etc. Laboratories mainly include Telecommunication Equipment Exhibition Room, Practical Activity Room, Computer and Communication Laboratory, Innovation Activity Room, the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Laboratory, RF Laboratory, and Practical Activity Processing Room.
1. Laboratory Introduction
Electronics and Communication Engineering Laboratory is located on the 7th and 8th floors of Siyuan West Building on Weihai Campus, with an area of more than 1,000 square meters. As a state-level specialty, the Communication Engineering Program, relying on the state-level key disciplines of “Communication and Information System” and “Signal and Information Processing”, is located at the level of “Internationally Famous, Domestic First-class”. As an important platform for experimental teaching, the Laboratory of Electronics and Communication Engineering supports the undergraduate teaching experiments of more than twenty courses related to electronics and communication technology, as well as a number of practical activities, such as graduation design, Da Chuang experiments, College Students' Electronic Design Competition, and National College Students' Intelligent Vehicle Competition. It mainly includes communication equipment exhibition room, practical activity room, computer and communication laboratory, innovation activity room, electrical and electronic engineering laboratory, radio frequency laboratory, and practical activity processing room.
The main functions of the Electronic and Communication Engineering Laboratory are to meet the needs of communication engineering undergraduates in experimental teaching, help students to recognize the communication professional equipment, cultivate students' experimental skills and the ability of designing and debugging the electronic and communication systems through the course experiments, cultivate students' ability of engineering project management through the flexible and diversified teaching methods, cultivate students' ability of scientific and technological innovation and the spirit of innovation through the open and innovative experimental platform, and make students initially have the ability of a professional engineer, so as to make students have the ability of a professional engineer. It has 48 sets of desktop computers, DC power supplies, digital oscilloscopes, function signal generators, desktop digital multimeters, FPGA development boards, Arduino kits, constant temperature soldering stations and other equipment. It can provide experimental platforms for courses such as digital electronic fundamentals, circuit analysis, power systems, digital electronics, analog electronics, instrumentation and control, advanced AC circuits and so on. It can meet the requirements of 48 students attending classes at the same time and one person with one set of equipment.

It has 45 sets of desktop computers, routers, switches and microcomputer interface technology experiment boxes. It can provide experimental conditions for computer network, microcomputer principles and interface technology courses, and meet the requirements of 45 students attending classes at the same time and one person with one set of equipment.

With the darkroom, vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, RF signal generator, digital oscilloscope, DC power supply, function signal generator, desktop digital multimeter, constant temperature soldering station, hot air desoldering station and other instruments, to meet the RF circuit design, debugging and testing needs for the electromagnetic field and RF engineering, graduation design, and college students, such as electronic design competitions, to provide experimental conditions for the courses and teaching sessions.

The laboratory provides RSA3000 spectrum analyzer, equipped with real-time analysis and sweep analysis function, its frequency range 9kHz to 3/4.5GHz.
