1. BJTU Weihai Held 2020 Freshman Gala Evening
On October 3, Freshman Gala Evening of 2020 was held at BJTU Weihai’s playground, which was also broadcast live online. Around 80 Chinese and international students stepped onto the stage to give their performance, attracting more than ten thousand audience on spot and online.
2. Activities held to raise students’ academic aspiration
To stimulate students' learning enthusiasm and help them prepare for exams, Student Union of BJTU Weihai held a series of activities to raise students’ academic aspiration.
3. Volunteering for 2020 Table Tennis World Cup
From Oct 31 to Nov 16, BJTU staff and student volunteers participated in service of 2020 Table Tennis World Cup held in Weihai, providing interpretation and logistical support for the event, who have been commended by the Organizing Committee for their hard work in this event.
4. The “Dancing Youth, Passion Rhythm” square dancing move in BJTU Weihai
On Nov 9, a square dancing move was kicked off in BJTU Weihai with the theme of “Dancing Youth, Passion Rhythm”. The aerobics on the Campus’ Siyuan Square will last for one month, and students and faculty are welcome to join.
5. A team of Campus won a Silver Medal in the Challenge Cup National Competition
On November 28th, Neptune Science Popularization team from BJTU Weihai Campus, as the only representative team of BJTU, participated in the national final of the 12th "Challenge Cup" National College Student Entrepreneurship Competition held by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. After competing online with 432 teams from universities across the country, they won the silver medal, which was the best result of BJTU in the past four years.
6. Nanhai High School visited BJTU Weihai
On Nov 29, fifty students from neighboring Nanhai High School visited BJTU Weihai to participate in an inquiry learning activity. This event strengthened the exchange and cooperation between two schools and enriched students' extracurricular activities.
7. The 1st Campus Cultural and Art Festival was held
On Nov 29,the curtain descended on “Flaring·Youth” the First Campus Cultural and Art Festival in BJTU Weihai. The series of activities over three weeks included open rehearsal and public performance of Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, and Concert and Dance Performance.
8. Great achievements in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition
Congratulations! The third BJTU "ZHIXING CUP" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition witnessed Weihai Campus’ great achievements, with Team Smart-Skill-for-Wonder snatching the First Prize, and Team Greenlive the Second Prize among seven finalists. The two winning teams were selected after five stages of training, project approval, preliminary, semi-final and final. Fifty-five teams from Weihai Campus participated in the event, and eight teams moved to semi-final.
9. “Face-to-face Talk Over Lunch” Between Students And Campus Leaders
From December 8th, BJTU Weihai Student Union organized a “Face-to-face Talk Over Lunch” between students and campus leaders. Mr. LI Honglin, Executive Campus President listened to students’ suggestions about the Campus development and individuals’ puzzles.
10. BJTU Weihai Student Union comprehensively optimized
In the autumn semester of 2020, BJTU Weihai Student Union has been comprehensively optimized according to Several Opinions on the Deepening Reform of the University Student Union (Graduate Union) . Their focus shifted to students' rights and interests and learning atmosphere. A total of 19 student activities were held, including 7 related to students' rights and interests, 5 related to learning atmosphere, 4 related to sports and sports activities, and 3 related to team building.
