威海校区学生赴北京校区参加ACM暑期培训
BJTU Weihai Students Received One-month ACM Training on Beijing Campus
From July 24 to August 25, seven students from Weihai campus attended an ACM training, which was organized by School of Computer and Information Technology. The seven computing students exchanged a lot with the ACM peers, whose one-month efforts were greatly rewarded. Professor ZHANG Xingchen, Vice President of BJTU, met the students and encouraged them to explore more.
The ACM (The Association for Computing Machinery) is an umbrella organization for academic and scholarly interests in computer science. It was founded in 1947 and is the world's largest scientific and educational computing society. Its motto is "Advancing Computing as a Science & Profession".
2017年7月24日至8月25日，威海校区计算机专业7名学生于北京校区进行了为期33天的ACM培训活动。此次活动得到了计算机学院副院长李清勇的大力支持，以黄华老师为代表的ACM教练团队为学生们进行了专业、细致的培训。
整个训练过程紧张而充实，同学们纷纷表示，从一开始的迷茫不知所措，到后来能够结合自身水平制定具体目标，每个同学的能力都得到了锻炼和提升。
训练期间，北京交通大学副校长张星臣教授，威海校区管委会副主任白延雷、校区信息中心主任王宇杰以及校区办公室副主任刘广志与7名同学召开了座谈会。领导和老师详细询问了同学们在北京校区的学习和生活情况，积极解决大家遇到的各种困难，倡导同学们积极参与威海校区ACM社团建设，争当威海校区ACM及其他程序设计竞赛的领路人。
威海校区计算机专业在2016年招生了首批学生，在程序设计大赛的人才培养和训练比赛方面缺乏经验，但相信在“一校两区，共建双一流”的思路下，在两校区的师生共同努力下，威海校区的明天会越来越美好。
