Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) is a national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of China and now is jointly supported by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transport, the China Railway Corporation and Beijing Municipal Government. BJTU was selected into the ‘Double First-Class’ National Initiative. BJTU will surround the advantaged disciplines and focus on building ‘Smart Transportation’ as a world-class discipline. Beijing Jiaotong University has 66 years in the cultivation of International Students.One of the first universities being credited by CEAIE for meeting the quality standard of international education for higher education institutions. International students from over 110 countries studied at BJTU in 2020. The university has established 4 Confucius Institutes in Leuven in Belgium, Texas Southern University in the United States, University of Campinas in Brazil and Warsaw in Poland.
Weihai Campus, hosts mainly international joint programs, adopts advanced educational concepts and curriculum systems, employing popular original English textbooks, with English as media language. One third faculty members are international teachers. Students who have completed all the courses required by BJTU and its international partner universities, meeting the requirements for degrees, will be awarded Graduation Certificate and Degree Certificate by BJTU, and Degree Certificate by its partner universities.

威海校区作为国际化校区，以中外合作办学机构和项目为主，引进国外先进教育理念和课程体系，采用英文原版教材，实行英文授课。三分之一的课程由国际教师授课。学生修完中外联合培养计划规定的全部内容，成绩合格，达到两校学位授予条件，可获得北京交通大学毕业证书、学位证书以及国际合作大学的学位证书。
