BJTU Weihai Students Plant Trees to Welcome Spring

On March 9, with China' Arbor Day on the way, students of Weihai Campus planted trees on the bank of Huanglei River. They volunteered to build a more beautiful city, raising awareness of environment protection. March is the month of volunteers, originating from the movement of learning from LEI Feng, a household name of a solider in China, whose stories are widely known to Chinese. Forestation programs have been encouraged in China to make a greener world. The Tree-planting Day was first adopted in China in 1915, and later changed to March 12 to commemorate SUN Yat-sen, founding father of modern China.  

又是一年好春光，植树造林正当时。

在植树节即将来临之际，为传递植树护林的环保理念，深化同学们的环保意识，校区青年志愿者协会于3月9日组织志愿者在小观镇黄垒河边开展植树活动。

到达植树地点后，志愿者们都充满干劲地投入到植树工作中，挥铁锹，扶树苗，精心栽种，忙得不亦乐乎。大家分组协作，互相帮助，在两个小时的努力下共同完成任务，并且在自己栽种的树苗上系上了写满祝福的红丝带。

在植树过程中，我校区青年志愿者代表接受了南海日报记者的采访，讲述了自己植树的感受和体会。

一个个土坑的挖成，一棵棵树苗的栽下，象征着一份份绿色的希望；每一滴汗水的流下，每一铲泥土的填充，代表着每一个人的对绿色环保的奉献。志愿者们用切身行动诠释着对大自然的热爱，体会着绿色环保的意义，为建设生态和谐的美好家园贡献了属于自己的一份力量。
